The Magic of Light (Excerpt)
During the dark days of December, we physically hunger for sunlight. Without Light, there are no colors, no plants, no animals…there is no Life. When we see Light, it is blended together to appear to be mostly white. This is because all colors added together create white. When you wear white, all light is reflected off of the fabric, keeping you cooler. When you wear black, all light is absorbed, keeping you warmer. Send out light or brilliance whenever you want to take center stage.
Eyelights
You can’t order up a bowl of sunshine, but you CAN actively provide your body with what it needs. Start by choosing foods that contain chlorophyll. The darker green the better, but any green beats no green at all. In order to tap into the greatest Light power, eat the full spectrum every day. Yes, you have to get creative for blue, but dark purple counts. Every one of our senses has an exoteric and an esoteric function. The sense of touch brings feelings into our brains via our nerve endings in our skin, but it also gives out energy with the laying on of hands in healing or a gentle loving touch. The AMA’s Lancet just published an article how ears emit sound. Eyes not only take in light, they also shine out light.
You have seen eyes with no light coming from them. They are called hopeless or dead. There is no light shining out from within. Eyes such as this are not only not attractive, they are off-putting. When the eyes are bright, they are irresistibly attractive. When you eat every color of the rainbow your eyes will actually emit light. To further energize the brightness in your eyes, eat more vitamin A and get enough shut-eye.
Marilyn Monroe was a master at turning on her Eyelights. Look at ANY image online and you can see why she was such a star. She was very familiar with the ability to turn her Eyelights and her Star Shine on and off at will. There is a story about her walking with a friend in the streets of Manhattan one day. Wearing dark glasses and a scarf to hide her lights, she was invisible. After a while, however, with scarf and dark glasses still in place, she turned to her friend and asked, “Shall I be HER now?” They were immediately surrounded by a crowd of fans.
You too can turn your Eyelight and Star Shine on at will. Google images of Marilyn Monroe. As long as she was posing, she was shining her radiance. Photographers will say the camera loved her, but the true story is that we live for light, especially loving light. You will notice she shines love out from her eyes, even if posing in a photo shoot. Practice matching her poses in front of a mirror. Look down. Center yourself. Imagine yourself to be radiant as if your whole body is glowing. If you imagine that your glow matches a single match flame, your radiance will match that glow. If you imagine that your glow matches a spotlight on a stage, your radiance will amp up to that level. What do you think Marilyn imagined her light level to match?
The source of the brightest light you can shine will be the image you hold of yourself at your best. When you BELIEVE in yourself you shine your brightest. This magic starts in the mind then travels out through the eyes. CAUTION: This is an irresistible force! Use it responsibly.
Skylights
There are three types of light from the sky: sunlight, moonlight, and starlight. Each is a different color, has a different frequency, and each has different influences on your energy and magic.
Sunlight starts with a yellow tone because our Sun is a yellow star. Morning light has a red shift and afternoon light has a blue shift. Red is the source of action, like blood or anger. It moves through orange to be purified as yellow. Yellow is the color where healing begins. Healing is the process of returning to health or well-being. Green aligns with health, whether restored or in process. Blue is a color of alignment with the Wisdom. Purple is the color of highest consciousness.
Sunlight’s pale yellow is the color of the Archangel Raphael, the angel of healing. To spark healing, start with the color yellow - eat yellows, see yellow, be in yellow light, such as candle or fire light. As healing progresses, move to the color green - eat greens, see green, be in green light, such as in a dappled wood or on a lawn. As healing completes the return to well-being, move to the color blue - eat blues/purples, wear blues/purples, and be in blue/purple light, such as under a blue sky, in a blue swimming pool, or in a room painted blue. Supercharge any healing by including petting or playing with a dog, eating fish, and laughing. Watch the light return to eyes instantaneously.
Refract Sunlight using prisms in your environment and enchant your space with the magic of rainbows. Hang faceted crystals in your windows and let the Sun dance across your walls throughout the year with different angles each day. The wonder of seeing the full spectrum spread before you raises your spirits, promotes well-being, and charms the child within.
Gold is the metal aligned with the Sun and its light. This is the ruling celestial body of Leo, the Lion. The Sun is the Son of God. It is the primary source of Light and Love in our Solar System. Including sunflowers, rainbows, or suns invite Apollo, Helios, Ra, and Bastet into your magic and your space.
Moonlight is a soft silver that steals color from the night. As the Moody Blues’ song said, “Cold-hearted orb that rules the night, and steals the colors from our sight. Red is gray and yellow, white - but we decide which is right and which is the illusion?” And this is indeed the way Moonlight works. There are no sharp edges, no high contrast, and little exposure.
Moonlight is a fleeting thing, available only during a few nights a month when the lunar body is bulging. For other times, capture the magic of Moonlight by having only one fairly weak light source. Add images of the Moon in all its phases (Crescent, Quarter, Full), goddesses in all their phases (Maiden, Mother, Belle Dame), and any other trinities which resonate with your purpose.
Moonshadows, like Sun shadows, walk with us whether we see them or not. When you see your Moonshadow, you have an open portal to ask your emotional self questions that it must answer truthfully - at least as truthfully as it can. Pay attention to the emotions included in its response to what you ask. Therein are keys to opening other doors. Align your magic to the phases of the Moon, just as you do to the times of the day and of the year.
Silver is aligned with the Moon and its light. Usually considered to be feminine in nature, it is the ruling celestial body of Cancer, the Crab. It moves the oceans and tides, as well as our emotions. The inclusion of sea shells, mermaids, or aquariums in a space invite Diana, Selene, Artemis, and Phoebe into your space and your magic.
Starlight is a vast net of tiny twinkling lights. You cannot read nor work by starlight, but you can spend time in wonder. The most magical thing about starlight is that it time travels. We forget that all time and places are one. When you are beneath Starlight, you have unfettered access to your ancestors, so speak up. They watch and wait for you to awaken and ask, hidden in the Sunlight, but always there. To activate Starlight in your magic, add stars to your environment. Wink, giggle, and sparkle at will. Wear diamonds, white topaz, and clear quartz. Integrate strings of lights into your interior and exterior environments. The more stars in your space, the more Star Shine in your magic.
Include the stars in your personal heavens in your space to multiply the power of your magic. Whether you choose film or television stars or historical figures matters not at all. Anchor in the archetype of what they represent to you. Create a Master Mind group with whom you can consult on a regular basis. Read about their lives. Read what they have written. Know them well enough to recognize their responses and suggestions when you request them. Choose at least 7 stars for your personal constellation. Who will they be? Put images of them where you have to look up to them to gaze upon them, thus embodying your respect and appreciation.
Scintilla are aligned with the Stars and their light. Stars are not static. They flicker and glitter and spark. The Star Tarot card is associated with the Air sign of Aquarius, the Water Bearer. Including fountains, bowls of water, birds, or swastikas invite all the Celestial Heavens into your magic and your space.
Light of Joy
Whenever you are involved in doing something you love, your brain begins to emit alpha waves. These electromagnetic frequencies vibrate between 8 and 13 Hertz or cycles per second. This frequency matches the purr of cats, the breathing of a sleeping person, and the rhythm of waves on the shore.
When you are in this state, your DNA strands actually untwist and relax. As they do, they release Light - living Light - recognized as the Light of Joy. Your heart eases into your activity and you will focus on sharing the joy before you will focus on the time, food, or hearing others trying to interrupt.
Whenever you feel yourself tense up in resentment, anger, or frustration, you turn off the Light of Joy. When you say or do things to activate those feelings in others, you can turn off their Light of Joy too.
Listen to the words you speak. If you say things like, “This is killing me,” “I hate these people,” “I am so stupid,”or “I don’t know what to do!” you affect every cell in your body. Your words are its command. It will do everything it can to “live up to your expectations” by embodying your words.
Use your body as your emotional barometer too. If you are trying to decide something and your body goes “dark” then postpone the decision until you have more information. Seek what lights you up. The brighter your light, the greater your power. Whatever lights you up - do more of that. If it takes the light out of your eyes, look at something pink or something beautiful and find something to tickle your fancy.
The human aura is a real thing. We have long seen it in our art, but science now validates it. Magic is magical because you don’t know how it works. The Magic of Light works through your turning on your high beams and shining out your Light - your gifts, your joys, and your love - into the world.
To use the Magic of Light requires no accessories. You carry your heart, mind, body, and soul wherever you go. When all four align in joy, your light shines out. You can turn it up and dim it down at will, but you risk having your gifts taken away from you.
What is it that gives you the most active living joy? What would you do for free just because you love it? Therein lies the source of your Magic, the Magic of Life, and the Magic of Life.
